Where Can I Get Free Software to Learn Spanish?
Many Spanish learning Internet sites offer some sort of introductory or trial version of free Spanish learning software. Usually, this is a trimmed-down version of a more complete package that they offer for sale, but you can still access Spanish language software and learn to be fluent without having to spend a lot—or any—money.
To learn more about the type of free Spanish software that’s out there, just type that exact phrase into your favorite search engine… or, you could keep reading, because I’m going to take you on a quick tour of some of the best sites I’ve learned for free Spanish software.
Interactive Language Programs
SpanishPrograms.com, launched by a former university Spanish professor, features the “Visual Link” learning system, which uses interactive audio, video, and writing activities to help you learn Spanish quicker and more effectively. In addition to purchasing their complete package, you can also access free “learn Spanish software” by using their online Spanish lessons or by downloading a free lesson from the website. Before You Know It (BYKI.com) offers a smart, interactive learning system that features media-rich content and actually adjusts to the portions of the lesson or vocabulary that you need more work on! You can even record your voice and compare your pronunciation with that of the native speakers on the software. They offer a download of free software to help you learn Spanish, and you can choose to upgrade to the deluxe version at a later time.
Audio CD Programs
One of my favorite ways to learn a language is by listening to interactive audio CDs. There are lots of great programs available—such as Pimsleur, Rosetta Stone, Berlitz, and others—that can help you get a quick start on learning Spanish or any other language… but they sure aren’t free. However, go to Downloads.com, and check out Learn Spanish and Speak Español 2.7. The program features native speakers in conversation, and “audio flashcards” that give you lots of practice and lead to effortless recall of Spanish vocabulary. You can download the free trial version of this Spanish learning software, and if you like it, you can upgrade without spending a fortune. Downloads.com also features user reviews of all its software, so you can check out what other users have said before you download the software.
